Grow relationships and team building skills in these inclusive and fun face to face sessions at Kelvin Hall School. Please note this is a closed group for students at Kelvin Hall School.

Express Yourself @ Kelvin Hall

Young people attending the Express Yourself sessions at Kelvin Hall School lead on the creative activities with Mez (Practitioner). They explore mood, emotion, build relationships, grow confidence and celebrate individuality through creative activities such as retro board gaming, creative writing, and journaling or through engaging and fun team building activities and games.

The session runs across Thursday mornings and involves group work and one-to-one non-clinical information, advice and guidance.

"Mez has been coming into Kelvin Hall School weekly since September. He does a combination of group and 1-1 work with students we have identified as needing extra support in school.

As Designated Wellbeing Lead it is part of my role to signpost students to the right sources of support and it has been brilliant having Mez as an extra option available to me. We have over 1600 students in school and only two members of staff on the Wellbeing Team so finding/providing support to all of the students who need it is a constant challenge.

Mez has provided me with a non-clinical option for support for those students who just need something different. They may not meet CAMHS criteria or they may sit for weeks/months on the waiting lists of other agencies.

The students feedback to me has been that they really enjoy the sessions they have with Mez. The boys in the group have loved being part of something and having the opportunity to plan and decide what they do each week.

Overall, Mez has been a fabulous addition to our school and we are very grateful to have him working with us."
